Following the demise of the Kogi State NYSC Coordinator, the management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have decided to name the newly built Multi-Purpose Hall at NYSC Kogi State Secretariat in Lokoja, after her, late Mrs. Oludolapo Omolara Ahile.
This was revealed on Tuesday 21 May, 2019 by the Acting Head of the Secretariat, Mrs Leticia Nwokeke. She made it known during Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim’s condolence visit to Lokoja.
Mrs. Leticia Nwokeke stated that the entire staff of NYSC Kogi State unanimously agreed to name the edifice after Ahile, because of her favourable human disposition without discrimination and this was immediately approved by the DG, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim.
The multipurpose hall had been built by Mrs. O. O. Ahile from internally generated revenue. The late Kogi State Coordinator of National Youth Service Corps, Mrs Oludolapo Omolara Ahile has been described as an hardworking woman whose virtues should be emulated.
“Her patience, tolerance, motherhood and benevolence attracted many officers and staff to her. We have no doubt that Mrs Ahile’s impact will continue to be felt in the lives of millions of Corps Members that have passed through her supervision”, Nwokeke added.
The DG of the Scheme, NYSC, commiserated with Corps Members and staffs who converged at the State Secretariat in Lokoja, Kogi State.
“Death is an appointment we have to keep and cannot be postponed. We are very sad about this incident and we pray the Almighty God to grant the family to bear this irreparable loss”; the DG said.
He also warned that, Corps Members are to avoid unnecessary journeys except it is extremely necessary, in order not to be victims of kidnapping, banditry among others.
The DG thanked Kogi State Government for its commitment and kind gesture towards NYSC in the State.
Kogi State Government has commiserated with the Management of National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, over the death of Kogi State Coordinator of NYSC, Mrs Oludolapo Omolara Ahile. The state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello stated that the family of the deceased would be given every necessary support.
The Governor, who presented a condolence letter personally signed by him to the DG, described late Mrs Ahile as a dutiful, committed, dedicated and sincere public servant whose contributions to youth development would be greatly missed.
He added that late Mrs. Ahile provided a conducive working environment which endeared the State Government to her robust working relationship. He continued saying that the State Government would continue with the on-going projects at the NYSC Orientation Camp, Asaya.
In his response, Brigadier General Ibrahim commended the Governor for his assistance towards the development of the NYSC Scheme in Kogi State.
Mrs Oludolapo Omolara Ahile assumed duty as Kogi State Coordinator on October 30th, 2017. She died on May 17, 2019.She was involved in a ghastly motor accident which occurred along Keffi-Akwanga-
