The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has added to it’s menu “LGA Clearance”. This option is available to only serving Corp members who have a profile with the scheme.
The National Youth Service Scheme, NYSC, has employed the use biometric fingerprint capture. This is to combat corps members running their clearance acrivities in proxies and enaure the corps membera take full reaponsibiliteis during their service year.
All serving Corps members can now log into their dashboard on the NYSC portal to ascertain the status of their monthly clearance as a new menu has been made available on their dashboards.
The LGA clearance menu has been added to the list of menus on serving corps members dashboard. This is to create a means through which serving corps members can verify their monthly clearance status. Successful clearance for a particular month will be seen as “present“. If no clearance is done in a month, your status appears as “absent“.
This would keep serving Corps members in view of their clearance state. Whoever would get an extension of service will know and won’t be shocked at the whatever decision the board takes.
Monthly clearance is very important for serving corps members as it is a prerequisite to getting the monthly allowance from Federal Government. If you cleared for a month and find out that your status is showing as “absent“, it is advised to see your Local Government Inspector (LGI) as soon as possible.
Your LGA monthly clearance status should be reflected as soon as you have done your biometric capture. This is dependent on the network in the area.
Notwithstanding, the monthly clearance for the month Corps members left their respective camps has been assigned as “absent“. The reason to this is best known to the management of National Youth Service Corps,NYSC, scheme. Serving corps members should not be disturbed on seeing this.
