The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has suspended their five weeks old strike embarked upon to press for the implementation of agreements reached with the government
The suspension of the strike was announced yesterday evening September 18th, 2017 after a meeting with government delegation led by Minister of labour, Senator Chris Ngige.
President of the Union, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi said they decided to conditionally suspend the strike action in view of the timeline of October 2017 for the implementation of the signed agreement. It’s members have been directed to return to the classroom from Tuesday September 19th, 2017
